Tahoe Arts Project

Tahoe Arts Project is a nonprofit organization in S. Lake Tahoe, CA. We have presented performing arts in our schools and community since 1987. I am writing this letter in support of the group Essence.

In October 2001 Essence spent a week performing for over 8,000 K-12th grade students and at a nearly sold out public performance.

The school programs were educational and entertaining and were very well received by the students and the teachers. They were able to meet the laborious schedule of four school performances per day and always with a smile on their faces.

Students were introduced to the Japanese instruments the taiko, koto and shakuhachi. They were taught the history of the instruments as well as how they are made.

The members of Essence were extremely professional and a joy to work with.
